White
Light and Us
For many years I have experienced the metaphysical powers of white light. By
just visualizing this phenomenon one can set up protection around oneself, one’s
family, one’s home and other belongings. One can also by the use of this
visualization facilitate healing in self and others.
What is white light? Scientifically white light is all the colors we perceive
blended into one. An experiment which most of us were witness to in grade
school, was shining all the colors of the rainbow or the three primary colors
red, yellow and blue together on one spot where they merge to become white
light. Another experiment experienced in grade school was that of shining a beam
of white light through a prism to break it up into a rainbow spectrum.
The relationship between white light and the colors of the spectrum can be
equated to that of water which is usually fluid, but can be a solid (ice) and
can be gaseous (vapor or clouds). We all understand that water exists in these
forms because we have experienced them. With the two experiments with light we
are shown that light also have different forms but remain just that light.
Through the scientific process of spectral analysis everything from a single
atom to the stars and galaxies emit specific spectrums of light. Paramahansa
Yogananda in his book “Man’s Eternal Quest,” stated that everything is made of
waves of energy. Energy can be perceived as light, sound, vibration etc. Some
people through the ages have been able to see sound as geometric shapes and
color, and others have been able to feel color as vibrations. With our increased
developments in technology it has become quite common to see screens of ever
changing color accompany sound recordings. This uses vibration to connect with
color.
So what does this have to do with us as human beings? Well, we too are made of
spectrums of color and vibration. The main chakras correspond to the colors of
the rainbow right down to the organization of those colors.

Once we become aware of the chakras we understand that we are made up of all the
colors of the rainbow. As our beings need certain vibrations for balance and
harmony we are drawn to the corresponding colors in our lives. When we need
physical energy we are drawn to colors in the red part of the spectrum, when we
need to speak our minds we may be drawn to the turquoise or blue part, and so
on. When these needs occur we choose these colors by the clothes we wear, the
jewelry we adorn ourselves and by the colors we surround ourselves. As our needs
for these vibrations subside new ones come into being. Because we are always
trying to balance our beings, if we get too much of one vibration we compensate
by replacing it with another that will balance the out-of-balance vibration.
When we have obtained too much of that vibration another imbalance is created.
Chakra balancing using color, sound, or vibration are a few methods of bringing
us back to a perfect balance.
The perfect balance in light waves is white light as it contains all the colors.
That is why when visualizing white light the phenomenon of protection and
healing works.
A while ago in meditation I received a visualization which blew me away. It is
said until we experience something we do not quite understand it. This
visualization was one using the geometric shape of the tetrahedron (a shape
consisting of four equilateral triangles with three making up the sides and one
being the base, it reminds you of a three sided pyramid) and is the first of the
platonic solids making up our universe. Ninety-nine percent of the human body
has the elements of carbon and oxygen, which bonds in the form of the
tetrahedron. The visualization has you envision your guides, the ascended
masters and yourself in one of the corners of the tetrahedron. I saw myself as
white light in one of the corners and then I saw myself begin to materialize as
a human body made up of a spectrum of color sitting in the middle of the
tetrahedron.
From this I feel I was shown that before we incarnate we are whole and perfect
as white light. When we incarnate we can only do so by becoming like the beam of
light going through the prism and becoming the spectrum, allowing us to move
into the world of matter. We also incarnate with specific strengths and
weaknesses explaining the reason no one has the same aura or auric field of
colors. Possibly the angle of refraction causes the differences just as shining
a light through a crystal at different angles gives more of one color and less
of another. Also only a part of our soul incarnates (the higher self is a much
larger entity) we no longer remember who we really are and it explains why so
many of us are forever searching for something, and craving for the need to
become whole again.
There are many references to light and the seven lamps in the Bible (could the
lamps be the 7 chakras in our bodies?). For example: “You, O LORD, keep my lamp
burning; my God turns my darkness into light,” “Wisdom has built her house; she
has hewn out its seven pillars,” and “From the throne came flashes of lightning,
rumblings and peals of thunder. Before the throne, seven lamps were blazing.
These are the seven spirits of God.”
Light and vibration are ever present in our lives. A rainbow has seven colors
(vibration seen as light being refracted). There are seven whole notes in the
musical scale (music is vibration we hear and could this be the perfect sound of
AUM also being refracted?). And there are seven main chakras in our bodies
(again the spectrum). It is not coincidence that these relate to each other as
they are all waves of energy in the universe of matter.
By utilizing the visualization of white light we affect our whole bodies by
connecting to the source of being, and with time we can come to the
understanding that we are and always have been perfect white light in an altered
state, just as everything else in the mundane universe is. And when our journey
in the world of matter is completed we return to that perfect state of pure
white light and become part of the one or the whole once more.
