A Practical Approach to the Psychic

In times past much fuss was made about how unique and unusual psychic talent was thought to be. These days the idea that we all have some measure of psychic potential which can be developed, is more widely held. Our societal attitudes and beliefs do not lend themselves to the development of such abilities, nor do they give any support for the integration of such talents into our lives.  It is my belief that there are some really simple ways to do both.

Let us first look briefly at some of the words used to describe psychic perception. Clairvoyance, clairaudience and clairsentience, literally mean clear sight, clear hearing and clear knowing. In all my years as a practicing psychic I have seen the clear part of that statement as clearly arguable, if you pardon my pun. The meaning, however, is clear; most psychic perception is an extension of normal faculties which manifest to our minds in a form familiar enough to be understood.

Our first step in self development is to sharpen and focus on one sense at a time and to do so in-depth. This will give rise to a greater ability to distinguish the incoming psychic perceptions more clearly when they begin to occur.

The techniques for this are relatively simple:

  1. The first one is PAY ATTENTION. That is learn how to focus to a higher than normal degree on one sense and draw as much detail from the experience as possible.  For example, if it is sight you are using look at the view in front of you, shut your eyes and see how much of that scene you can rebuild. If you are working with hearing see how much detail you can get when recalling a song or speech.
  2. Where the body is concerned, learn how to go over the body in your mind and inventory how it feels. Learn to do this quickly and under a variety of conditions.
  3. Learn through meditation and observation of your own thoughts how NOT to dissect, categorize and judge any perceptions that come your way as these are the surest methods for distorting and/or obliterating impressions. If you record your impressions you can and should do that later anyhow.
  4. When you have learned the quick inventory method, do this before entering a room full of people and then observe all the changes you can feel in your mood and your physical self. Eventually you will come to understand which changes came from within and which are impressions.

After more time and observation the impressions will have more and deeper meaning. Seeing and hearing will most likely come to you in meditation or dreams and will likely be fairly fleeting to begin with. When opening, learning and expanding the psychic way it is extremely important that, before you attempt anything you offer up a prayer for guidance and protection or perform a ritual or a visualization for that purpose. This sword is two edged. It cues your subconscious to this activity and it will also invoke those entities and forces which are here for our protection and guidance. Any such development must be done for the highest good. Remember, bad form has a way of coming home to roost.

The only advice I can offer in a nutshell for integrating development into your life is that it should enrich, aid and make your life more meaningful and productive. If this is not happening ask yourself honestly if you are applying this correctly or if now is the right time. What you do must depend on the answer you get back.

Aside from all this, read, get  opinions, experience things for yourself and above all filter this through your own sense of reason and right action.

It was once believed that these abilities were only supposed to be developed in the service of mankind. In my opinion, developing your abilities makes you a more enriched and productive individual, then in some way mankind is served.

May the light shine on all your learning endeavours.
